HI Everyone!
This is my first day since my automobile accident, that I have spent any time on the computer! I did NOT mean to neglect ANY of you, but I spent most all of the time after March 14th, thru April 8th, in and out of the hospital.

My right front tire caught on the lip of East Evans Creek Road, and I allowed it to pull me off the road, into the ditch, up and out of the ditch, across someones driveway, into their woods, and then into a lovely huge sugar pine tree! I turned the car off, as something was coming into the car from the engine area, and I was very worried about fire! Then I removed my seat belt, wondered what and who would buy such an ugly vest that was on the steering wheel, not realizing it was the airbag!

Climbed out of the car, and opened the door for our two doggies to exit, Gypsy, Laura's Shepherd mix, and my little "Minnie"...I got dirty looks from them both, as I shooed them up into the hills and away from the highway! Nobody had stopped yet...I wandered back down the hill to the highway to flag someone down, my mouth was full of blood, but amazingly, I could walk up and down the hill, and get out to the road.

A man in a pick up stopped, I gave him my cell phone, telephone numbers of our friend, here in the woods, and Laura...then I collapsed...

However, I am recovering and have many friends I NEVER knew, who came to visit, both at home, the hospital, and just checking in...well, I didn't intend to go on and on, but thought that you ALL might want to know, and I haven't forgotten any of you, you are dearies...and I how much I appreciate your friendship, fellowship and dearness... Thanks for being YOU!!!

Love,
Carol Lee

I just received this message from Carol Fifer Fugiel:

Dearest Family, Friends and Acquaintances...

Ronald, who was suffering from acute liver failure for the past couple of months, died, peacefully (as possible) at home, under Laura's and my, and Hospice care, at 3:10pm on Saturday, September 25th, 2004.

We have received wonderful loving support from those around us, and even strangers...we are truly blessed!

Laura and I will be visiting, with Onge' and her family down in Sacramento, CA for this weekend. ( Onge', is my youngest daughter), for those of you who are wondering... ).

Ron's wishes were to be cremated and disposed of...being the proverbial jokster, however, Laura and I, along with my children and Ron's have elected to have his wishes for cremation acknowledged, and, then, placed in a beautiful handcarved cherrywood urn, beside a Veteran's American flag.

Ron's last couple of months were spent watching the Discovery/History channel, watching War History, and reading lots of non-fiction military books. His time served in the Army had a huge impact on his history. He was suffering much pain, and in and out of reality, the last few weeks, but we were able to keep the pain under control with the help of Hospice.

Our dogs were with Ron on Saturday, they must have known it was time to say "farewell". They have been such a comfort to Laura and me.

Hug each other, and when they say to live each moment, "they" are RIGHT! Please also, always have your liver enzymes checked. Ron's chirrosis was from acetomenophyne (sp)!!! Not alcohol related, at all! We had no idea! The liver is terribly crucial, as the heart!!!

Take care of yourselves!

With love,

Carol and Laura

Where, o', where to begin? I Am living in Rogue River, OREGON (about a half hour off I-5) between Grants Pass, OR and Medford, OR. It is absolutely the most beautiful spot I have ever lived! We (Ron and I) live with my eldest daughter, Laura, 4 Canines (2 Bigs; 2 littles), 3 Cockatiels, 2 American long-haired cats, and 1 Betta fish called "Pinky", 'cause he is! We live in a woodland 6 ac. setting at about 1,500 feet and have Elk, Deer, Raccoons, Rabbits with giant ears, lotsa birdies, eagles, crows, owls, buzzards with red heads, and Hawks! Also many reptiles, I hadn't seen before, and of course some insects.

My other 3 children live in Rocklin, CA; San Diego, CA and St. Charles, MO. I have seven grandchildren, and do not get to see them nearly as much as I would like. I have finally decided to do some things that had to go on the back burner when I was a career person for the BOEING AIRPLANE Company in Seattle, WA. I have joined a writing group, art group, sewing group, modeling clay group, gardening and other stuff, too! I have decided that I can never die because there is SO MUCH TO DO!!! Oh, and Laura and I are hoping to get our place cleared out by starting to sell it on e-Bay. We just moved here March 10th! I have been doing alot of reading, and spending time at Barnes & Nobles, 'cause there's a Starbucks attached!

I will write more, much more, later...but I have given you all something to start "chewing" on. I so enjoyed the BHS 1958 Reunion Book and all the photos that have been so dearly shared by the Reunion photographers, Dave, John Treat, Pete Catlow, and if I missed someone, I am very sorry, but you know who you are!

Love to you ALL! See ya' on the Net! (thanks to Dave & Betsy and all you techies) YOU ARE THE GREATEST!!! Feel free to email me at yogranma2@aol.com.
